When purging large diameter pipes the amount of purge gas and time needed to fill the volume is significantly increased. This can cause high gas costs and a slow down of production.
The cylindrical shape of the Silicone purge system 210 will considerably reduce the volume within the pipe that requires purging. This will result in immediate cost savings and an increase of production rate.
The system is easy to move within the pipe and ,once positioned around the weld, the silicone disc will ensure an air tight seal that will prevent oxygen from penetrating the purge volume.
The inert gas supply can be directly connected to the gas entry hose of the Silicone disc purge system 210. Once the purging gas starts to fill the purge volume, atmospheric air is vented out through exhausts. This ensures a rapid purge that will save the customer time and money and will eliminate weld oxidation and costs due to weld failure.
